The Red Devils Poised to Secure German Forward Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Major Acquisition for United
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her contract, has been a consistent goalscorer for both club and country. She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League team.
Her exit from Munich was expected since she appeared to be fighting back tears while thanking the club's supporters following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its leading strikers. According to reports, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Consistent Goalscoring to Boost United's Attack
The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a significant boost to United’s forward line. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven straight seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She won the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when United appear to be gathering positive momentum.
Recent performances feature securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a win in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since arriving in 2023.
Regarding the midfielder's extension, a club official stated: “Miyazawa is now a vital component to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and technical ability allows her and the team to dominate play from central areas.”
