The Ideal Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Zodiac Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread enthusiasm within the community. From the gradual unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the title's launch, to players developing strong views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.
With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique appearances that emphasize their personalities, one thought naturally: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when provoked. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has aided numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Several past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet tree sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Just like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a intense symbol famous for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is obviously Super Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a show, albeit for aliens.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly critical is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a plan.
The Scales – Super Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the peace, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress even more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained sentient through pure hatred and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio adores karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some version of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even mentions how it “flexes to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who often always believe they’re right. Interestingly, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire placement that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Water Bearer being chaotic partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s double Ghost/Fire typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall daunting aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
