Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a statement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
