Oversight Panel

The House Oversight Committee has made public a collection of approximately 70 images secured from the holdings of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This marks the third release from a tranche of over 95,000 images the body has acquired from Epstein's holdings. It includes images of quotes from the book Lolita inscribed across a female's body, and censored pictures of women's foreign passports.

This disclosure arrives just hours before the 19 December deadline for the Department of Justice to disclose all records associated with its probe into Epstein.

"These latest photos raise more questions about precisely what the Justice Department has in its possession," remarked the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What's in the Photos Disclosed

Several of the photos released on Thursday depict Epstein speaking with academic and activist Noam Chomsky aboard a personal aircraft; Bill Gates seen alongside a woman whose face is censored; Steve Bannon seated at a desk facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

Investigative Body

These are the most recent high-net-worth, prominent men to be seen in Epstein property images disclosed by the oversight panel - previously published photos also depict US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, former US treasury secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.

Appearing in the photographs is is not considered proof of any wrongdoing, and many of the photographed men have asserted they were not participating in Epstein's unlawful actions.

In a press release accompanying the photograph release, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein property holders did not supply context or dates for the images.

"Photos were chosen to offer the general populace with clarity into a illustrative selection of the images received from the estate, and to provide insights into Epstein's associates and his profoundly troubling actions," the release states.

Investigative Body

The release also contains a number of photographs of quotes from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita inscribed in ink across several locations of a female's body, including her chest, feet, pelvis, and spine. Lolita recounts the story of a minor who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.

A particular excerpt from the book written across a woman's upper body states, "Lo-lee-ta: the point of the tongue traveling of three steps down the roof of the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".

Additionally, there are a collection of images of female travel documents and official papers from states globally, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Committee

Most of the data on the papers, like identities and dates of birth, is redacted but the committee indicated in a press release that the passports are associated with "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were involved with".

Another image depicts Epstein positioned at a workstation closely flanked by three women whose features have been redacted - one has her palm on Epstein's upper body under his clothing, and another individual is crouching to examine a close-by computer. Epstein seems to be aiding the third individual attach a piece of jewelry.

Investigative Body

Another photograph released is a capture of digital messages from an unnamed person who says they have been supplied "several females" and are demanding "$$1,000 for each individual".

Photograph Release Arrives Before DOJ Cut-off

The body has thousands of photographs in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "at once graphic and mundane," its press release on this week noted.

The oversight panel first legally compelled the property of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while facing trial on charges of human trafficking, in August.

The photos and records the Epstein property gave to the body are different than what is often referred to "Epstein-related records". Those are papers in the justice department's custody connected to its independent probe into Epstein.

In accordance with the recently passed law, which Donald Trump signed into law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to publish its records. The extent of the contents found in the DOJ's records is not publicly known, and it's probable that a large amount of the content will be heavily redacted, comparable to House Oversight Committee documents
