The final series of the streaming giant's supernatural blockbuster the hit series is set to be a major events of 2024. The initial episodes debuts on November 27, however a sneak peek of the eerie opening five minutes has been shared digitally.
The Beginning: A Flashback to 1983
The segment, named the prologue, brings audiences to the origins of the story in 1983, following the disappearance of the young character.
"What should I do—stay or go?" Will sings in an effort to keep calm in the parallel world.
Things quickly become horrifying the moment a monstrous creature emerges and pulls the character to the domain of the antagonist. "Finally, it's time to commence," he informs the captive while shooting a plant-like appendage down his throat. "You and I, we will accomplish such beautiful deeds as one."
Release Schedule and Theater Showings
Part two of the last season will be broadcast on December 26, while the series finale available on January 1 – which will also be presented in select movie theaters.
Official Synopsis
The synopsis reads: "The autumn of that year. The town is damaged by the emergence of dimensional tears, and our heroes come together by a single goal: hunt down and destroy the enemy. Yet his location is unknown – his whereabouts and schemes unclear. Complicating the task, authorities has put the town under armed isolation and intensified its hunt for the character, compelling her to go underground. When the commemoration of the boy's vanishing approaches, arrives a heavy, known fear. The last showdown is looming – and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything else they have battled before. To stop this horror, they will require each person – the entire group – united, for the final time."
Creator Comments
The unannounced footage was posted online after the series' Hollywood event on Thursday, featuring the stars such as the lead actress and another key actor.
"The scale of the season has increased … It features heightened thrills and enhanced CGI, yet it is likewise easily the most emotional series since it's the end of the story for all of these characters," the show's executive producer, recently said of the concluding installments.
The other creator and co-creator, added: "Launching it to the public is nerve-racking, yet we feel equipped to present it at last."
